Song 61: Swim Good Now – Daylight
Artist: Swim Good Now (ft. Daniela Andrade, Ryan Hemsworth, Lontalius & olli
I can say with confidence that I heard some new music today as my partner dropped me off at work. Unfortunately, like with an earlier post, I made I didn’t make any mental notes of a song I heard during the ride. It some ways it feels like a failure again and in other ways, I still feel like by constantly exploring and seeking out new music that the spirit of this project still remains quite a success. While I work I wasn’t able to listen to new music and once I got home I passed out for a few hours before going out to play Dungeons and Dragons with friends. The time passed quickly while I was with friends and before I knew it was past midnight. So to make up for not explicitly making note of a new song I’ve opted to listen to two new pieces today and will just share both. The song highlighted here is a new song by an artist I’ve been dying to see perform his music live but just can’t seem to make it happen. It’s largely in part since he doesn’t seem to play many shows and perhaps partially because of bad luck. The one time he played Toronto in the last while I had commitments I couldn’t avoid. I first discovered his music from a cover song he did with Torquil Campbell quite some time ago. After hearing that song I looked up more of his work and pretty much instantly fell in love with it all. Like the other songs by him I absolutely love this new song and was excited to read he has a new LP coming out in May. The song features quite a few other artists which I intend to explore in the coming days as well.
365 New Tunes is a project inspired by a tweet from the band Stars on December 31st, 2017 encouraging people to listen to a new song every day of the next year.
